Rs 111.47 crores fine was realized from ticketless travelers
As per Press Released by Central railway During the period from April 2015 to February 2016, a total of 22.44 lakh cases were detected as against 19.59 lakh cases during corresponding period last year, thus registering an increase of 14.54% in number of cases. An amount of Rs.111.47 crores was realized from them as fine against Rs.93.28 crores during corresponding period last year, thus registering an increase of 19.50% in earnings.
During the month of February 2016, 989 cases of illegal transfer of reserved tickets were detected and an amount of Rs.6.47 lakhs was realized as fine.
Central Railway appeals to the passengers to travel with proper and valid railway tickets in order to avoid inconvenience and travel with dignity.
