How Can we Book Retiring Rooms?
Where and How to Book Retiring Rooms? OR
Step by Step instructions for How to book Online Retiring Rooms
- First please visit irctctourism.com (Type www.irctctourism.com in your internet browser OR Search Retiring Room in Google).
- Click on Accommodation, and then Click on “Railways Retiring Rooms”. Please see the below Page for Example.
Click on “Railways Retiring Rooms”. - Now Enter Your PNR No. (For Book Retiring Room You must Have Valid PNR Number) The Page Look Like this Just Enter your PNR Number as Given as in your Booked Ticket.
- After Making PNR Click On Search You will get the PNR details as Given below in the Page:
- If you want to book Retiring Room at source/originating station then click on ‘Book on source’ or if you want to book Retiring Room at destination station then click on ‘Book on destination’.
- Choose your Reservation source, Check in Date, Checkout date, Bed Type and A/C status.
- After Clicking “Book on source” if your Reservation Station does not show then click on “Book on Source Principal” or After Clicking “Book on Destination” if your Reservation Station does not show then click on “Book on Destination Principal”.
- After filling in all the details Please click on “Check Availability” (Check OR Uncheck Name as Per your requirement )
- It will show the occupancy availability with details.
- Select the Room no and Slot Duration that you would like to book. After selecting, click on “Proceed”. (Please follow the below picture for understand)
- It will redirect you to login page, login with your user name & password registered with IRCTC.If you are not registered user choose “Guest login”.
- You will get the complete booking details.
- For each passenger select “Room no” in which he/she would like to accommodate.
- Then select the Id card type and card No.
- Click on Proceed button.
- It will show complete booking details.
- Click on “Make Payment” for payment.
- Select you payment option.
- Now Done. Take Printout with you.

i have an rac ticket from MAS to SBC and i will be reaching SBC on 16th march morn at 5.30am. What should i do? Book For 15th march to 16th march 8pm-8am slot? Any formalities when i reach ?
Book for 15th March 20.00 to 16th 20.00 Hrs if his kind slot not available then use 12 Hours Booking Slot. But As you Reach Morning 5.30 you need to book Room from 15th Night. Else stay in Waiting Room Till 8.00 AM if you don’t want to book from lat night.

Do the dormitary rooms come with bathrooms? or should i use bathroom in the general waiting hall? jus need to take bath..i dont know what amenities are there inside
There is Common Bathroom for Between Some Bad, Like in Hall type Room there upto 4-8 Bed with Bath and Toilet.
i will be reachin bangalore at 5.10am on 16th march .. and retiring rooms check in are from 8am to 8pm..what should i do?

Make Sure your PNR in Confirmed or RAC Status, Because with Waiting PNR You can’t Book Retiring Room.

I have made retiring room reservation in Chennai from 15-3-16 to 16-3-16, 7.00 am.
I need an extension till 17-3-16 7.00 am. Please let me know how to do this.
As per Rules Max 48 Hours Booking Allowed.
For Extension or More Hours booking approached the retiring room officer at the Time OR Call/Email to retiring room for more details.

I want to stay at visakhapatnam on 27-mar-2016 from onwards 01:00 am to 07:00 am bcoz we are planning to go araku from vizag station for this train [58501].so i book retiring room at vizag.but check in time shows 27-03-2016/0800 to 27-03-2016 2000(Dormitory).
Select Date 26th March to 27th March and then Search and book.
Still problem not solved drop your PNR Will Check and Confirmed Details.
Sir, can I book retiring room for 48 hours? Is it mandatory to book retiring room from railway station counter? Or can I book it from cyber cafe?
You can Book from Both way Online or Through Station.
Retiring Room Can be Booked maximum 48 Hrs as per Rules.

Dear Sir,
I have booked ticket in Train No 11447 Up to Durgapur Station . My Arrival Date 17-Apr-2016 & Arrival Time – 1:30 AM .As I am Booking Retiring Room at Durgapur Station check in Time is showing 17-Apr-2016 , 0800 & Check Out Time is 18-Apr-2016 , 0800.
Can I check in at 1:30 AM on 17-Apr-2016

As I understand Your arrival on Midnight 1.30 AM.
The Timing of Retiring Room 08.00 to 08.00. You not mention the AM/PM So, If the timing Slot 17 Apr 08.00 AM to 08.00 PM it means only you able to get room on Morning 8.00 AM.
If there is 16 April 08.00 PM to 17 April 08.00 AM then you can Check-in 01.30 AM 17 April.
So booked your room from 16th Apr to 17 Apr and Check the availability. As Per Rules there is slot timing for Room Check IN/OUT. Minimum Time Period for Book Room 12/24 Hours.
i have to go to guwahati on 16th march i have my pnr bt when i tried to book retiring room its pop up and says no NO ROOM AVAILABLE FOR BOOKING IN THE SPECIFIED LOCATION. what to do ?

if I am reaching a reaching my destination post 12 am; I am not able to the book room for that night. for instance. I am reaching Abu road on 20th at 1:20 am & need to book a retiring room from 19th 8 pm to 20th 8am. The system does not allow me to book the same. Please help how to book the same.

My pnr no. is 8400093427 … from last night I am trying to book 1 bed at Durg Junction Dormitory.. but online system showed ” No Room Available ”
But today at Durg junction the Dormitory was locked there and 1sweeper employee attending the rooms told me that manul booking will start only at 8.00pm and 8 Am. And no one will get room allotment before that, .. when I asked the same question to the retiring room Incharge TC. ,he gave the Same answer…

I have a confirmed 3AC ticket – PNR No.462 9558662 for 4 persons Ex. SBC to MGS. I would like to break my journey at ALD (Allahabad) on 01.04.2016) and then continue my further journey by Road to Varanasi. I would like to book Retiring room at Allahabad for my 1st April night stay. But irctc domain do not allow booking retiring room at intermediate station other than the destination station. As per Rules in Online Source or Destination Can be booked……As Allahabad not in your Source and Destination….So you need to book it Manually means by Visit Station or Book at the Time of arrival.

Yes you can also book dormitory room using your Confirmed/Partially Confirmed 2nd Seating Railway Tickets…..
My ticket(2nd AC) is for Telangana express on 4/3/16. I am reaching Dew Delhi from vaishnavo shrine (IRCTC PACKAGE TOUR)on the same day at 5.30AM.I am trying for retiring room for that day ie.,from 8.00AM TO 5.00PM. Without PNR I am not able to check anything…………But You may also Booked Dormitory and AC Rooms offer by Shree Mata Vaishnodevi Shrine Board. As i can check the Charges are almost same visit maavaishnodevi.org or give me PNR for check railway retiring room availability at Katra Station……….
how many minimum beds are there in a railway dormitory ? Can three persons stay in a single room with three beds only ? Is dormitory open like a student’s hostel where multiple unknown passengers sleep openly in a single room .
Yes, In dormitory room there is many beds available, depends on availability.
