Railway Minister Piyush Goyal gave this information in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. During the zero hour, Goel said that out of these stations selected under ‘Model Station Scheme’, 1,103 stations have been developed. The remaining 150 stations will be developed in this financial year.

Railway Minister said that crores of rupees are needed to eliminate all the level railway crossings in the country. He informed that till April 1, 2019 there were 21,340 man-made label crossings in the country and 1,048 unmanned labels were railway crossings.

Minister of State for Railways Suresh Agadi told the Lok Sabha that efforts are on to speed up the Barhoni-Kathmandu rail project. He said that the inter-governmental agreement is awaiting Nepal’s consent. The Ministry of External Affairs is in touch with the Government of Nepal.
