Can I Travel With Fully Waiting List Ticket

As i already explained this in My Previous Post Regarding all About Waiting Tickets.

You Can Travel with Waiting List Ticket Only if You Booked Tickets from Railway Counters or I-Ticket. And if you have E-Ticket With Partially Confirmed or RAC are valid for Travelling.

Yes, you can travel with waiting list tickets on Indian Railways. When you book a ticket and the seats or berths are not available at that time, you are placed on a waiting list. As other passengers cancel their tickets or their reservations are confirmed, the waiting list moves up, and you have a chance of getting a confirmed seat or berth.

If your waiting list ticket does not get confirmed before the date of travel, you have the option to still board the train and occupy the seat or berth if it remains vacant. However, you are not guaranteed a seat and may have to adjust with the available space or share a seat with another passenger.

It’s important to note that traveling with a waiting list ticket can be uncertain and there is no guarantee of getting a confirmed seat. It’s advisable to check the status of your ticket before the journey and make alternative arrangements if necessary. You can check the status of your ticket through the Indian Railways website, mobile app, or by contacting the railway inquiry helpline.

(As in Some Conversation Rules noted that Passenger Can not traveled with Waiting Ticket But there is no Clear Order to Remove Passenger from Train if they Have Waiting Tickets)

Because in E-Tickets it’s Auto Cancel if Status Fully Waiting After Chart Preparation. So You Can not Travel with Fully Waiting E-Tickets.

First Check Which Type of Ticket You have: Currently There is Two Type Tickets Provided and Approved by Indian Railway.

E-Ticket

1) E-Ticket Booked from irctc.co.in website or though IRCTC E-Ticket Agents, Under Online Services Money debited from Account and Printed On Common Page. Look likes below pictured, You Can not Travel with Fully E-Tickets because it’s got auto cancelled and money refunded with the same account.

Ticket through Personnal irctc Account

Counter Ticket or I-Ticket:

2) Counter Ticket or I-Ticket: Booked from Indian Railway Authorized Counter, Under Hand to Hand Services. Looks like below pictured, You Can Travel With this type of Railway Ticket with waiting Status.

Only Waiting Tickets Booked from Window (Railway Ticket Counter) are not Auto cancel and supposed Passenger Want to travel with this Waiting Ticket They Can Do But Depend on TC Approval.
As we know Practically Waiting Passenger Allowed in Sleeper Class Coaches.

Make Sure you have No Waiting E-Ticket Because it’s auto cancel After Chart done.

If one has booked a ticket in waiting from railway counter but till the chart preparation it does not confirm but railway allows him/her to travel then where ? if journey in the reservation coach allowed and passenger travels sitting on floor in the reservation coach then what about reservation and berth charges paid by the passenger ? and if passenger is allowed to travel in Gen/2nd class coach then what will be difference of reservation /gen. ticket charges paid by the passengers.who will bear this and why? This the the question railway has to reply in the interest of railway passengers. A clear cut rules should be there for issuing W/L ticket and travelling for waiting listed passengers to avoid financial loss of passengers and corruption.

    Dear sir ,
I am a serving army officer and am proceeding on duty .i had booked a ticket at railway counter on warrant in AC 1ST CLASS AS APPLICABLE to me however my ticket was waiting 7 ,on the day of travel the status of my ticket changed to PQWL 4 however when I boarded the train the compartment was empty and when I showed my ticket to the TT he told me that I can’t travel on waiting ticket.I argued my case saying the railway has already deducted the fare as mentioned in the ticket as in their case the fare has already been book debited from army also there is vacant seats but the TT WAS ADMANT THAT there are no seats n how can I be so sure that the seats are vacant ,to which I replied as per the chart put on the coach the seats are vacant as some passengers may not have come he however said even if the train is vacant TT have no power to allot a seat also because of Diwali rush there is no vacant seat otherwise my waiting list ticket would have got automatically confirmed.in view of the above may I request you to kindly confirm that if one can travel in such cases n if the coach is empty can’t a TT allot a seat or is it just another case of A TT ACTING DIFFICULT just to trouble someone who has to travel as in my case I have no option as I have to report on duty on due date .
May I request you to kindly kindly revert back as soon as possible.
My ticket details are as under:-
    PNR NO 8252523130
    Train no 12171
PLACE OF TRAVEL From LTT TO JHANSI
    DATE OF JOURNEY 27/10/16
    Class of travel AC 1st

    With warm regards
    Yours sincerely

    Dear Mr Prabhu,
Thanks for the effort done and shown by your team and Modi government to improve the railway pathetic situation. How ever lot of further improvement is to be done to make Indian railway world class.
There is one query which I want to clarify for the ticket booked though Irctc online booking on 1st july16 for my parents with PNR no 8404671136 traveling from Manmad to Lucknow via Pushpak Express.
Now while booking two seats in first AC,through IRCTC one seat is confirm and other is waiting one.
If the other ticket is confirmed before the date of journey it is ok.In case other seat is not confirm can my mother will be allowed to travel.

As I know if ticket is not confirm and in waiting list , IRCTC will refund the money and we will be treated as ticket less. But I believe if one person one seat is confirmed in same PNR ,other person should be allowed to board the train. Sticker attached.
Need clarification how to deal in such case?

This kind of ticket called partially Confirmed. In this Case both passenger including Waiting Passneger Can Travel. ( They may be allotted berths if there are any cancellation in the coach. Else you may have to adjust amongst yourselves. But this cannot be claimed as right. Some TTEs may not permit.)
