According to sources, the IRCTC will not levy any gateway charge for booking e-tickets under RDS plan. Users can open an account with the IRCTC with the minimum balance of Rs 1,500 and operate their accounts and book online e-tickets for undertaking journey by any train, sources said. An IRCTC official said the RDS plan is a boon for frequent travellers by trains, especially businessmen and executives as they can book their e-tickets at short notice for travelling to any destination by trains. Besides, chances of ticket booking failure is remote under the RDS plan, he said adding IRCTC started this scheme after completing all other formalities.
