Shri Suresh Prabhu, Hon’ble Minister for Railways, Govt of India, flagged off the inaugural run of Bandra Terminus – Palitana Weekly Superfast Express in a function at Bandra Terminus o­n Friday, 5thDecember, 2014 amidst loud cheers from the public, especially the devotees who travel to Palitana in Gujarat, which is famous for its temples. Shri Prakash Mehta, Hon’ble Minister, Govt of Maharashtra; Smt Snehal Ambekar, Hon’ble Mayor along with Hon’ble MPs Dr. Kirit Somaiya, Shri Gajanan Kirtikar, Shri Gopal Shetty, Shri Rahul Shewale, Shri Arvind Sawant, Shri Anil Desai, Shri Sanjay Raut, Shri Javed Akhtar and Hon’ble MLA Shri Prakash (Bala) Sawant were present o­n this occasion.
Shri Hemant Kumar, General Manager, Western Railway welcomed the Hon’ble Guests and presented them bouquets. Shri Shailendra Kumar, Divisional Railway Manager, Mumbai Central division gave away the vote of thanks.
As a regular service, Train No. 22935 Bandra (T) – Palitana Weekly Superfast Express will depart from Bandra (T) at 12.55 hrs o­n every Thursday from 11th December, 2014 and reach Palitana at 03.05 hrs. the next day. In Up direction, Train No. 22936 Palitana – Bandra (T) Weekly Superfast Express will depart from Palitana at 16.00 hrs o­n every Wednesday from 10th December, 2014 and arrive Bandra (T) at 06.15 hrs. the next day. The train will halt at Borivali, Vapi, Surat, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Joravarnagar, Botad Jn., Dhola Jn., Songadh and Sihor Jn. in both directions. The train will have AC II Tier, AC III Tier, II class Sleeper and General Second Class coaches.
