Over 2.5 crore applications have received by Indian Railways for various posts till now. This number is considered greater than Australia’s population!
The recruitment drive would be the largest conducted by a state-run organisation since Prime Minister Shri Naredra Modi took office four years ago, struggling to find jobs for an estimated 1 million young people that enter the labor force each month.
देश के सबसे बड़े सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के 13 लाख कर्मचारियों के साथ भारतीय रेलवे ने 7 वीं वेतन आयोग के स्तर 2 में सहायक लोको पायलटों (ट्रेन गोताखोर), तकनीशियनों, सुतार और क्रेन चालकों के 26,502 पदों के लिए आवेदन आमंत्रित किए हैं। ट्रांसपोर्टर ने 7 वीं वेतन आयोग के स्तर 1 में गैंगमैन, स्विचमेन, ट्रैकर्मैन, केबिनमेन, वेल्डर, हेल्पर्स और पोर्टर के लिए 62,907 रिक्तियों की भी घोषणा की।
करीब एक लाख युवाओं को हाई स्कूल के स्नातक या औद्योगिक प्रशिक्षण संस्थान (आईटीआई) या समकक्ष प्रमाण पत्र रखने वालों को नौकरी मुहैया कराने की प्रक्रिया जरूरी थी क्योंकि रेलवे तेजी से रिक्तियों को भर नहीं पाई थी, 7 वें वेतन आयोग की वजह से लागत में कटौती और मजदूरी बिल में तेजी से बढ़ोतरी के कारण पिछले कुछ सालों में यह बढ़ी है।
मोटे अनुमान के अनुसार, अतिरिक्त भर्ती के लिए प्रति वर्ष 4,000 करोड़ रुपये खर्च होंगे। 2017-18 में कर्मचारी खर्च 2016-17 में 69,713 करोड़ रुपये से बढ़कर 72,706 करोड़ रुपये हो गया है। 2018-19 में कर्मचारी व्यय 76,452 करोड़ रुपये है.
