Major Policy & Ticketing Changes:
- Emergency Quota (EQ) Guidelines Revised: As of Tuesday, July 22, 2025 (or potentially Wednesday, July 23, 2025, as some sources mention Tuesday’s circular), Indian Railways has tightened its emergency quota rules. Requests for EQ must now be submitted at least a day before travel.
- For trains departing between 00:00 hours and 14:00 hours, requests must reach the EQ cell by 12:00 hours on the previous day.
- For trains departing between 14:01 hours and 23:59 hours, the cutoff is 16:00 hours on the preceding day.
- Requests on the same day as departure will no longer be accepted.
