Photocopy of the proof of identity or to indicate its number is no longer required while booking Tatkal Tickets over the railway booking counters. It’s not required now for Internet booking also.
However, for tickets booked under Tatkal Scheme, one of the passengers has to produce a valid proof of identity in original, failing which all the passengers booked on that ticket will be treated as travelling without ticket and charged with fare and fine as per rule.
The 10 ID proofs accepted are as under:
Voter I Card, PAN card, Passport, Driving License, I/card issued by Central/State Govt., Nationalized Bank Passbook with photo, Credit Card with photo, Aadhaar Card, Photo I/cards with serial number issued by PSUs, Distric Administration, Municipality, Panchyats, photo I/card of students of recognized school/college.
