How Can we Book Retiring Rooms?
Where and How to Book Retiring Rooms? OR
Step by Step instructions for How to book Online Retiring Rooms
- First please visit irctctourism.com (Type www.irctctourism.com in your internet browser OR Search Retiring Room in Google).
- Click on Accommodation, and then Click on “Railways Retiring Rooms”. Please see the below Page for Example.
Click on “Railways Retiring Rooms”. - Now Enter Your PNR No. (For Book Retiring Room You must Have Valid PNR Number) The Page Look Like this Just Enter your PNR Number as Given as in your Booked Ticket.
- After Making PNR Click On Search You will get the PNR details as Given below in the Page:
- If you want to book Retiring Room at source/originating station then click on ‘Book on source’ or if you want to book Retiring Room at destination station then click on ‘Book on destination’.
- Choose your Reservation source, Check in Date, Checkout date, Bed Type and A/C status.
- After Clicking “Book on source” if your Reservation Station does not show then click on “Book on Source Principal” or After Clicking “Book on Destination” if your Reservation Station does not show then click on “Book on Destination Principal”.
- After filling in all the details Please click on “Check Availability” (Check OR Uncheck Name as Per your requirement )
- It will show the occupancy availability with details.
- Select the Room no and Slot Duration that you would like to book. After selecting, click on “Proceed”. (Please follow the below picture for understand)
- It will redirect you to login page, login with your user name & password registered with IRCTC.If you are not registered user choose “Guest login”.
- You will get the complete booking details.
- For each passenger select “Room no” in which he/she would like to accommodate.
- Then select the Id card type and card No.
- Click on Proceed button.
- It will show complete booking details.
- Click on “Make Payment” for payment.
- Select you payment option.
- Now Done. Take Printout with you.

I live in Bangalore. My wife and I plan to take the Shatabdi (train 12040) on the morning of 14th October this year. So we are flying into Delhi on the 13th and spend overnight in AC double bed room at the NDLS. would you kindly let me know how good these AC retiring rooms are and what exactly the tariff is? A personal message to my E mail is highly appreciated. Mind you my wife is a senior citizen and so am I.

As per your website (http://www.indianrailways.gov.in/railwayboard/view_section.jsp?lang=0&id=0,2,279,856,859), the Non A/C double room at Secunderabad railway station costs Rs.250. However when I booked yesterday(July 16,2016), I was charged Rs.600 for the same room/bed type.Can you please explain this discrepancy in price between what is shown on your website and what I was charged in actual in the transaction? Do you think there was some pricing mistake?

I have successfully booked 3 dormitory beds at NEWDELHI station .But the person whose ID card no. Is registered (that also appearing on the confirmation voucher) has cancelled his ticket and stay in the dormitory.Is it OK for the rest 2 persons to show their own ID at the time of checking in.?? If I book retiring room in the slot of Aug 24 20.00 to Aug 25 20.00, Will it be acceptable.? Do late entry is allowed to enter the room? I have booked ticket from Mumbai LTT to Bhopal of 21st June. I wants to book dormitory at Bhopal station, but whenever I entered bed type as dormitory error came as “time out session”. Well when I entered bed type as single then it showed me available rooms with time durations.
Then kindly checked problem while booking dormitory.
Secondly my arrival time at bhopal on 22nd June is 1.30pm approx and will check out on 23rd June at 5.00am. So is this possible to book room/dormitory with 12hrs based service or should I go with 24hts based service ?

Yes there is Time Period slots 12 Hrs and 24 Hrs, As per your need you need to book From 8.00 AM 22 June to to 08.00 AM 23 June 24 Hrs Booking, Charges Single Dormitory Rs 150\- + Service Charges Extra as per Rules.
Dormitory or single bed retiring can be booked on the spot ? I mean is there chances of availability either of these ?
Because right now they are showing single bedroom(non ac) for 23rd June and I required it on 22nd June.
