Currently, the Railways provides a quota of two sleeper class tickets per train for the differently-abled, which could be booked only physically from any booking window. The online option has gone live from Thursday. Now, passengers only need to give details of the ‘Handicap Card’ number while booking the e-ticket, which will be verified by the TTE after boarding the train. The type of concession – ‘Escort’ or ‘Handicap’ can also be mentioned. Earlier, disabled persons could not avail concession while booking e-tickets. (newindianexpress.com)

I am staying outside of my state so how can I apply for the certificate? If by post then how many days it will take and can they send it to the address now I am staYing outside of the state. Or is it possible to apply at any other drm office outside of my state?
Even Selected Handicap option not getting option to book. If I select General, i get option to book but dont get option to book in Handicap quota.. Please let me know in case i am missing out something while booking

sir unable to book e-ticket on concession i email to irctc they said enter NERIZN in cert. no. i treid this also but it did not work again i email them along with concessional certificate screen shot and the error displaying in filling the form

Hi..mai Mumbai se hu mujhe hajiali se railway conssision certificate mila hai uske baad bombay central jake online ke liye sab paper submit karke id card bhi mil gaya hai per jab tickets book kar rahi hu per handicap ka option koi bhi nahi aa raha hai sirf senior citizen ka hi option aa raha hai to pls proper link ya details bhejiye. .. jab hum id banate hai tab bhi form bharne ke time handicap ka koi option nahi aaya to pls proper guide kariye..Handicap log agar ghar baithe online tickets book kar sakte hai to bahut railway ka Dhanyawaad. ..mail id mera bhejti hu to pls repay karo

I have received concession id card from railway, however, when I log in to irctc and book ticket online after filing id card no and escort details, it shows an error message “the card information is not present”. please confirm me what the error msg is and how to rectify. all the railway enquiry no are busy or not responding.

I have received a photo Identity card But while booking my tickets through internet it shows the passenger name is miss matching but railway authorities not yet corrected & communicated to me
Please Make Complaint through Railway Web Portal OR Contact Respective Relevant Zone DRM Office for that. The Contact Details are available on IR Zone Websites
Also you can visit nearest railway station and try to book your ticket there if possible.

Simple Escort means the person who helping/caring the physical challenge person. So if you want you can carry escort person with you (with full concession). If you don’t want just not to select and leave blank and go ahead.

Yes, You can If the ID card issued by Indian Railway. More details please dial toll free 138 or dial 139 (chargeable).

Please Once contact nearest railway counter and ask them or dial 139 railway customer care.
As per the rules on booking online you need to mention the certificate number at the time of booking for get concession or etc. Then in the trains TTE check the certificate number with certificate.

Can we book for #3a and 2a also I mean concessional tickets for differently abled online? Somebody told me there is one-time registration required in order for the diff abled to book concessional tickets online. Where do we go and whom should we approach for this purpose? I have been logging in on irctc but do not see any option for concessional tickets while making a booking. please help.

Handicaped certificate can be taken from jurisdictional DRM office. This is one time excercise then differently able person can book concessional ticket online. But I visited to DRM office in Danapur patna they refused to give and such number saying that they have not received any communication in this regard.
Railways will issue photoidentity cards to physically-challenged persons to enable them to avail concessions in train tickets in a hassle-free manner.
As per the new system, phyisically-challenged persons will have to approach the nearest Divisional Railway Manager office along with all relevant original documents to claim the concession and passport size photograph for the photo identity card. For more please call on 139.
Contact your Divisonal Hospital. Concession certificates are issued by them. A team of doctors will examine your disability. Based on that they will issue you the concession certificate.
