Child Help Desk at Secunderabad Railway Station Opened by RPF in Association with Divya Disha, NGO, Child Line

Secunderabad Division of South Central Railway in association with Divya Disha, (Child Line) a Non Government Organisation (NGO) has opened a Child Help desk at platform No.1, Secunderabad Railway station o­n 14th May, 2015 by Ms Chandrima Roy, Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Operations) in the presence of Sri Sumati Shandilya, Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, Railway Protection Force, Secunderabad Division, South Central Railway and Isidore Phillips, Director, Divya Disha (Child Line). The Child help desk will provide temporary transit care and protection to a child found o­n the Railway premises or train by RPF, Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway employee, other public or public spirited citizen.

This desk will be manned round the clock by the representatives of Divya Disha, an NGO engaged in child protection. Facilities like toys, first-aid & food are provided at this Child help desk. Adequate care and protection will be provided to the child, in co-ordination with Railway till the child is produced before Child Welfare Committee as per the provisions of Juvenile Justice Act. The effort made by the Secunderabad Division towards child protection has been praised by o­ne and all.
