Ticket checking drive conducted in different divisions

Eastern Railway realised a huge amount through ticket checking drive conducted in different divisions during the current financial year. An amount of  Rs. 25.79 Crore was realized of which Rs. 19.80 Crore as fine from free-trippers and Rs. 5.99 Crore from un-booked luggage during the period from April to December, 2014 an increase of 11.34% over the previous year.

Sealdah Division of Eastern Railway itself earned Rs.6,54,85,997/- as fine from a total of 2,47,436 numbers of passengers travelling without ticket and Rs.3,26,98,167/- from detection of 3,39,924 numbers of  un-booked luggage during the period April, 2014 to January, 2015. Altogether, 13 numbers of magisterial checks and 71 numbers of special ticket checking through ‘Chetana’ were conducted o­n different sections of Sealdah division during the period.
