RPF Secunderabad & Vijayawada Div cracked two cases
1) Two Notorious Criminals Apprehended:- In an incident that occurred on 24/25th October, 2015 (midnight), two notorious criminals were nabbed and the stolen belongings recovered due to prompt action, by the Railway Protection Force Train escort personnel, Warangal escorting Train no. 16317 Kanyakumari – Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Himsagar Express while passing enroute between Manikgarh and Balharshah stations. At about 23.10 hrs, two persons committed theft of passenger luggage in the general coach of the train and got down from the train by pulling the alarm chain and forcing the train to stop. The alert RPF escorting staff chased the criminals and apprehended them. one bag and seven mobile phones suspected to have been stolen from the passengers were recovered from them and the criminals handed over to Government Railway Police (GRP), Balharshah for initiating further action. It is suspected that they are involved in previous theft cases too.
2) Two Drug Peddler’s held:- Crime Prevention and Detection (CPDS) team constables Shri P. Krishna, P.A.S.Narayana and K.Satish, Railway Protection Force, Vijayawada Division, South Central Railway, had kept a watch on the incoming trains from Visakhapatnam direction towards Vijayawada, on receipt of information regarding the activity of ganja smugglers. Due to the incognito and sustained watch on the movements of the suspects, the team detained two persons – a male & a female, belonging to Madurai District in Tamil Nadu moving suspiciously carrying brown and blue colour bags. Upon questioning by RPF personnel, they informed that the bags contained Contraband Ganja. During the interrogation they revealed that they had purchased the Ganja from Paderu village of Visakhapatnam and had reached Vijayawada Railway Station to further proceed to Madurai. Both of them were handed over to Government Railway Police (GRP), Vijayawada with the bags, containing 24kgs of Ganja valued at Rs. 60000/-. GRP has remanded them and registered a case under NDPS Act.
