Railway issues order to drop special train tag revert to pre-Covid fare
The Indian Railways on Friday issued an order to discontinue the ‘special’ tag for mail and express trains and revert to pre-pandemic ticket prices with immediate effect.
जब से कोरोनावायरस-ट्रिगर लॉकडाउन में ढील दी गई थी, रेलवे केवल विशेष ट्रेनें चला रहा है.
“The Ministry of Railways has decided that all the regular Time Tabled Trains which are presently operating as MSPC & HSP train services, included in the working Time Table, 2021, shall be operated with regular numbers and with fare and categorisation as applicable,” it read.
उदाहरण के लिए, मेल/एक्सप्रेस ट्रेनों में स्लीपर क्लास में यात्रा करने वाले यात्री को ट्रेन में बिना किसी अतिरिक्त लाभ के ₹20 अतिरिक्त देने पड़ते थे। इसके अलावा, वरिष्ठ नागरिकों सहित विभिन्न यात्रियों को दी जाने वाली रेल यात्रा रियायतों में से अधिकांश को विशेष ट्रेनों में वापस ले लिया गया था। अतिरिक्त किराए वाली विशेष ट्रेनें 1 मई, 2020 को परिचालन में आईं, और तब भी जारी रहीं जब रेलवे ने कोविड के मामलों की संख्या में भारी कमी के बाद अधिकांश ट्रेनों को बहाल कर दिया।
Nearly 20 months after the pandemic disrupted operations, the Indian Railways on Friday said it will resume regular trains with pre-COVID fares.
इस घोषणा के साथ ही अगले कुछ दिनों में 1700 से अधिक ट्रेनों को बहाल कर दिया जाएगा। सामान्य संचालन फिर से शुरू करने के निर्देश मंत्रालय द्वारा पहले ही जारी किए जा चुके हैं लेकिन तकनीकी कारणों से इसमें कुछ दिन लग सकते हैं।
