Rail Traffic Disrupted in Punjab Due to Floods

SCR to run 32 additional Sabarimala special trains between various destinations

Due to severe flooding caused by heavy monsoon rains and rising river levels in Punjab, numerous trains have been cancelled, diverted, or are running late. As of September 7, 2025, the rail traffic in the Ferozepur and other divisions of Northern Railway has been significantly affected.

Please note: The train schedule is highly dynamic and can change rapidly. Passengers are strongly advised to check the latest status on the official Indian Railways website or by calling the helpline number 139 before planning their journey.

Here is a summary of the train disruptions reported:

Cancelled Trains

Diverted Trains

Short-Terminated/Short-Originated Trains

Late Running Trains

The disruptions are primarily due to the Sutlej river reaching the danger mark near bridge no. 84 between Makhu and Gidarpindi, and other instances of waterlogging and track damage in the region. Authorities are taking these measures as a safety precaution.
