Plan to deal with the problem of touts in tourists spots
The UP tourism department is drawing up a plan to deal with the problem of touts in tourists spots, especially at the Taj Mahal. Director general (DG), tourism, Amrit Abhijat on Monday said the department is sharing inputs with Agra police as well as their counterparts in Delhi to find out whether a mafia is behind fleecing foreign tourists.
Abhijat said, “We have come across cases where foreigners were fleeced on Delhi railway stations after being told that trains have been cancelled. It is a serious issue and we are looking into the matter. Very soon, we will announce measures to tackle the issue. The enforcement will be done by the police department.”
