IRCTC Revamps South India’s Premier Luxury Express
The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has announced the official relaunch of The Golden Chariot, South India’s premier luxury tourist train.
Designed to offer a five-star hospitality experience on wheels, the upgraded train features refurbished passenger cabins, plush upholstery, Smart TV entertainment systems, and upgraded washrooms. High-speed Wi-Fi, modern safety features, and customized fine-dining menus featuring authentic regional and international cuisines have also been integrated.
Curated Heritage Routes
The luxury train offers three curated itineraries covering iconic heritage and wilderness destinations across Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Goa:
- Pride of Karnataka: Covers Bengaluru, Bandipur, Mysore, Halebidu, Chikmagalur, Hampi, and Goa.
- Jewels of South: Explores historic temples and backwaters including Mahabalipuram, Thanjavur, Chettinad, and Kumarakom.
- Glimpses of Karnataka: A short 3-night luxury getaway highlighting South India’s architectural wonders.
IRCTC announced the refreshed edition of the Golden Chariot Luxury Train, featuring redesigned cabins, smart entertainment systems, enhanced fire safety, and three curated South Indian heritage itineraries.
