“black day” for the railway administration and commuters
Tuesday was a “black day” for the railway administration and commuters, as 17 deaths were recorded on Mumbai’s rail network (Central and Western Railway). This is the most number of deaths in a single day, in recent times. In fact, the number of deaths recorded on January 20 was nearly double the daily average of deaths in 2014.
Of those who were killed, six were unidentified and one was a woman. Nine were recorded on CR and eight on WR tracks.
