This is cheap!!! Why would I give half fare if my kid wont get a seat??? And there is no way given to change that to confirmed ticket though the seats are available.. Needs to be changed..

I Understand your concern but this is one kind of revenue earning step, You may take seat for Child but Need to Pay Full Charged to Get Seat.

There is Birth-Opt Option to Get Seat But for that need to Pay Full Fare.

Such a worst website that I have ever seen. Stupid reason why they don’t give seat for 5-11 years, where they have to sleep? No common sense for the person who designed this. Learn IRCTC from the other countries at least. What railways are doing with all the profits

IRCTC’s new website design is very worst and not as like old website. I tried to book 4 takkal tickets. but confirmed only 3 berths. I have a 10yrs old boy child with me. How is it possible to adjust elderly people with 10yr old boy. This IRCTC rule framing committee does not understand the problems of public before framing. Need attention on this part public.

This is one off the bad rule half amount they will deduct but no seat mean useless. One of the worst policy in our india. Instead if this they should remove half price and make it compalcery for child also full charge
