Indian Railways launched a toll free Security Helpline Number 182
This security helpline system has been launched by Indian Railways through security controls of Railway Protection Force (RPF) for providing round the clock security related assistance to the passengers all over the country, and will particularly provide safety cover for women in distress.
The new security helpline number 182 has been made operational oÂn all Divisions over South Central Railway, wherein users of all service providers (landline and mobile users) can call oÂn this toll free number which will automatically reach the concerned Divisional Control Office depending upon the location of the user/complainant.
The facility will provide speedy assistance to the passengers in the event of theft, pick pocketing, left behind luggage, harassment of lady passengers, unauthorised persons travelling in ladies coaches and coaches meant for differently abled rail passengers. The complaints received oÂn RPF security helpline are forwarded to the concerned RPF Post, GRP (Govt. Railway Police) Post or train escort party for necessary action.
Hi ,today I called more than 10 times to 182 ,but no is picking my call .It is urgent because by friend who is in train his seat has been taken by some guys and even TC is also not available.it is sad that indian railway security service is so week and even near by police station rejected to help me.

I tried 2 time to contact security team 2 times by dialing 182,no one is there to pick my call.
I have single query is that liquir is allowed inside the birth.
I feel liquir smell more than 5 min when I was sleeping on my bearth..
It is very bad to say that our railway is advancing..

Hi I m travelling in golden temple mail. Some people are there in coach in s2 whom r sitting and sleeping in the floor even they don’t have tickets. Even I told him to move forward he fights against me. I don’t want to give my name in front of him do something.

Finally after having a worst conversation with that lady, I had to stand for 1nd half hour and got a seat at lobavala….

Travelling in 12468 d1 coach with my family. Having a bad experience. A drunk person continuously disturbing us. A tte take him away from us, but after some time he again starting to disturb us. 182 is just worthless. After complaining a couple of time no reaction from them. Feeling so helpless.

I have given complaint , their reachable. I called , when I am travelling in 12078 train heading to chennai from Vijayawada . Even people don’t have confirmed ticket are giving more trouble for the reserved people. Even we can’t go to wash room. After paying all charges to railways. They have given an answer please adjust , even it is crowed.
Yes it’s true that in Reservation Class too much crowd due to non seater Waiting list/Penalty persons. Peoples who have reservation they not able to use of Toilet/washroom due to heavy rush in almost all Main line long journey trains… Why Railway Allowed them…
I tried dialling 182 from my mobile and it says “check the number you have dialed”..same message even after dialling 138..I am using Tata Docomo network in Karnataka region.
Both numbers are reachable from all over India. May be Due to your Network or etc you are unable to dial.
i called 182 and told the receiver the problem i was in. He replied that he was speaking from mumbai and since i was in rajasthan, i should contact at jaipur station.

I am in Maharashtra idea network and when I dial 182 number, it says, its invalid. What could be issue?
It’s may be due to network problem. Please go with 138 if you unable to contact on 182.
Just talk with lady at 182 helpline number delhi and she is so badly talking about my compliant. She is not intereted about the passanger problem and talking in bad langauge. The way indian railway treating to passanger is very bad and no body trying to desolve the common man problems.
