7 watt LED bulb with 3 year warranty to railway employees
Central Railway launched the Domestic Efficient Lighting Programme (DELP) at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai on 25.8.2015.Shri Rajeev Agrawal, Chief Electrical Engineer, and other Principal Heads of Departments, officers and staffs of Central Railway were present on the occasion. Shri R.D. Tripathi, while speaking on the occasion said that Railways is a cleaner and environment friendly mode of transport. Railways have taken steps to increase the use of solar energy which include roof-top and vacant land-based solar power plants, wind power plants to meet its varied energy needs.
Central Railway has tied up with M/s Energy Efficiency Service Limited (EESL), a joint venture company of PSUs of Ministry of Power for this scheme. Under this scheme, 7 watt LED bulb which carries a 3 year free replacement warranty is equivalent to a 60 watt incandescent bulb or a 18 watt CFL bulb is provided at concessional rate to the desiring railway employees in a phased manner on entire Central Railway.This will result in reduction of peak demand and would also save electricity besides reduction in expenditure.
