Press Released As part of ticket checking drives, a special drive was conducted from 13.04.2016 to 15.04.2016 to curb unauthorised travel of transgender in trains which create unpleasant situation to travelling public.
During these checks, Government Railway Police and RPF Personnel also participated.The checks were conducted in suburban trains and in some Express/Mail trains ie., Guwahati – Thiruvananthapuram express, Chennai – New Jalpaiguri express, Chennai – Ahmedabad Navjeevan express, Kovai express and Lalbaugh express trains.
The transgender who were caught travelling without authority during the checks were penalised suitably.These checks will be continued in future also.
