The railway ministry has issued a circular ordering that season passes of commuters be cancelled if it is found that the addresses they have given during the time of buying the pass are fake. This order comes on the back of instructions from the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court which had asked railways to take down addresses of all season pass holders nationwide to create a database for security agencies like government railway police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) to use.
