Illegal sale of tatkal etickets has been busted by the Crime Branch

A racket related to the illegal sale of tatkal etickets has been busted by the Crime Branch (property cell) of the Pune city police on Wednesday, with the arrest of an agent operating from his home at Lullanagar in Kondhwa. Ramkumar Yadav (35), a native of Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh and resident of Bramha Horizon Co-op Housing Society, used to give confirmed tatkal tickets against a high premium. Police said he used fake personal IDs created on railway ticket booking portal IRCTC.

Acting on a tip-off received by senior police inspector Sushma Chavan, in-charge of the property cell, a team raided Yadav’s residence on Tuesday night and seized six computers, four mobile phones, seven dongles, three calculators, 20 debit and credit cards, totalling worth Rs 2.08 lakh.
